Controller of Certifying Authorities (CCA) has appointed 8 Certifying Authorities (CA)through out the country [As of 31st January 2009]. These Certifying authorities are allowed to issue Digital Signatures, either directly or through the Registration authorities appointed by Certifying Authorities. Class 2 Signatures can be issued by receiving and verifying the documents, whereas Class 3 requires the subscriber to be present in front of CA and apply for Signature.
Class 2 and Class 3, both are valid for signing of TDS certificates as well as any other staturory return documents [including ROC forms, such as Form 32, Form 20B, etc].
The list of Certifying Authorities and their respective Websites have been provided below. The information on availing the certificates through their RAs are available in their respective websites.
** IDRBT does not issue certificates for purpose of Statutory forms [including Form 16, MCA-21, Income Tax, e-Procurement/e-Tendering, IRCTC, DGFT etc.]. IDRBT issues certificates for only Banks and Financial Institutions for RBI's PKI enabled applications such as PDO-NDS, SFMS, RTGS, CFMS, NEFT etc.
